Gecko Snacks – A Crank-Powered Lizard!

Get ready to have some gecko-sized fun in Gecko Snacks, a quirky, small game tailored for the Playdate console! Take control of an adorable gecko and spin the crank to catch tasty crickets, grasshoppers, and the elusive fly — if you're quick enough! But be sure to reserve your strength, the gecko can only concentrate for so long, and once it loses focus, it's game over.

Key Features:

  • Crank-Powered Movement: Turn the crank to move the gecko! The lizard always looks in the direction of the crank, making the controls accurate, but challenging.
  • Catch Those Critters!: Test your reflexes as you aim to catch as many bugs as possible before focus runs out.
  • High Score Table: Can you get to the top, and more importantly, get better score than your friends?

That's all there is to it. This is a tiny game I made for fun, hopefully you enjoy it too!

Note:

This game might drain your Playdate battery faster than other games on average. Drawing rotated images is an energy-consuming effect to use on Playdate, and as this game revolves around rotating images, it might snack on your battery a bit more.

This is an awesome idea!! It would also be cool if we had enemies 👀
Do you intend to add other insects or environments?

Thank you for this game! 😊

Thank you for your kind comment!
I have some ideas on how to expand the game, like different lizards and hazards, but no concrete plans at the moment. I'm open to more ideas though.
